
Saturday April 16 from 12-2 pm, Surfas Restaurant Supply and Gourmet Food and Ricardo Cervantes of La Monarca bakery will host a special demonstration on making two traditional Mexican Easter baked treats- Capirotada, a baked bread pudding filled with raisins and nuts and a Mexican Corn Bread lighter and more delicate than the American version and a staple on the Easter table. This is as authentic as it comes!
La Monarca Bakery, an institution in East LA and Huntington Park is known for hand-made Mexican cakes, pastries and breads has recently opened a location in Santa Monica. Now, wowing the Westside with Mexican baked treats made daily from the freshest ingredients using traditional recipes it is the place to get flaky, buttery and cinnamon dusted Mexican pastries hot and fresh from the oven and organic Oaxacan coffee .
